Yves Saint Laurent, Bill Blass, Schiaperelli, Willie Smith, Oscar De La Renta, Coco Chanel, Halston and Gorgio Armani are among the greatest designers known to fashion. Once you've come to know these creators, artists, innovators it becomes impossible to see yourself in anything else. Fashion at its peak is for fun, daring for people with great imagination.

Who says you have to wear a gown? Fashion has always been an avenue where the creative soul expressed their creative side. Thus the galas, the balls, the masquerade parties and "The Red Carpet". Your wedding should be one of the most amazing days of your life. It is your "Oscar" moment, your catwalk moment.

When choosing your frock be sure to look in the mirror, review your body, carefully. What do you like about yourself? What are your favorite assets? What are your least favorite parts? What can you realistically change or work on in the most reasonable amount of time without driving yourself crazy? I had the pleasure of watching one of the most amazing people in fashion at work, Mark Ingram. The owner of Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier is a style icon himself. Impeccable taste in clothes this elegant man of style brings to his establishment some of the most amazing designers in the bridal industry, Junko Yoshhioka, Carolina Herrera, Christian Locroix, and Angel Sanchez (who happens to be one of his best friends. What would you do to have one of those friends in your Blackberry? For Mark Ingram, it's not about a sale; it's about the fit of the dress, the occasion. Your location speaks one thing, your sense of style and your dreams may have told you something different. Hear them all but listen to the experts and your body.

Not all designers will speak to you. That is a definitely a truth some refuse to accept.

With so many options, why must one feel they have to follow the norm? Great designers are some of the most overlooked people in the world. Everyone seems to be fixated on what is popular and fail to realize some of the greatest designers fly under the radar.

Take for example Elizabeth Filmore, she produces beautiful, lovely hourglass, and fluid silhouettes, which are all about sex appeal. If you love lace this is definitely a designer to look into.

Selia Yang one of my favorite designers, Avante Garde are the two words I would use to describe her designs. Selia Yang was the gown that graced the cover of our Spring/Summer 2008 with Kamar De los Reyes and Sherri Saum. Amazing. If you have no fear of colors for your wedding gown then Selia is a choice for the creative-at-heart and bold-in-spirit.
