Emma & Will: Wedding in Tuscany

Emma and Will |
Brick red, pink, yellow, blue, mauve, and greens of different shades: the sombre green of the Cypress trees, the silver green of the olives, the unripe green of the first grapes. Tuscany is the most spectacular display of nature. The sunlight is delicate and enthralling, and Tuscany is its ideal palette. The balance, richness and charm are found not only in the landscape, but also in the architecture and food.
Narrow streets, winding roads, some houses, here and there a little hamlet, a car, a tractor. The valleys, fields, hills, farming of wheat, vines, the cypress trees, a stable, a small bar, a winery. And then the fragrances and the sounds lost in time. This is Tuscany.
After a few months of intense emailing, I met Emma and Will in Tuscany, when they came to see with their own eyes the place where they would spend the happy days of their wedding celebration.
Emma is a stunning Australian, who during a stay in the UK found the man of her life, the sweetest Englishman on earth, Will. He stole her heart, and Emma never went back to Australia.

It was winter when they first visited, and the landscape was still hiding the promise for the beauty yet to come. Four more months of planning followed, and in June, when Tuscany had already rekindled the warm colors of its landscape, Will and Emma arrived with all their guests.
The Wedding Day The day was very warm, and Emma was very excited. At 3:30 p.m. a shuttle service took the guests to the town hall of the small village near the farmhouse. Will’s legs were shaking; he could not hold back his excitement. Will and his brother reached the town hall in a Mercedes. Emma and her beautiful maids of honor followed a few minutes later.
She walked down the aisle to Johann Pachelbel’s 'Canon in D Major'. I thought she would cry as soon as she set eyes on Will, but she didn't. When she reached the place where the Mayor of the village and the interpreter were waiting for her, Will was already in tears. It was so touching and sweet. A civil ceremony is usually cut and dry, but the emotions at this one were overwhelming. There was not one dry eye in the hall. A large vase with petals and rice was waiting for the guests outside the hall, and the guests showed their enthusiasm with a shower of rice and petals.
The shuttle and the Mercedes took the wedding party to the farmhouse, where drinks and appetizers were served in the garden and poolside. A classical trio played all through the candlelight dinner, which was served on the beautiful terrace with a panoramic view of the idyllic Tuscan countryside – terraced olive groves and undulating hills glowing with swaying ripe wheat.
Will and Emma were radiating in the awareness of finally being husband and wife, and their guests were looking at their splendid beauty with love and friendship.

Chairs and tables were decorated with gerberas and tulle, flowers and candles; votives were placed all around the terrace, making the atmosphere all the more romantic. The electricity was switched off and only the glow of the candles, stars, and moon illuminated the happy party.

After the delicious Tuscan dinner, a jazz trio was waiting for them by the swimming pool. After cutting the cake, Will and Emma danced to Sinatra’s 'It Had To Be You' for their first dance. And the music, warmth, and happiness continued late into the Tuscan night . . . .
