Today’s brides have so much to prepare for their special day, thereby making self-seduction the last thing on their muddled minds. Hair, makeup, manicures, pedicures and facial services are among the necessities for any busy, bumbling bride. However, choosing the perfect spa that will not only suit your needs and give you the attention you deserve after a long and tenuous planning process may be just as difficult as finding the perfect wedding gown.

We decided to take on busy bride Shelly Jones, a Senior Web Developer at a leading fashion magazine, and send her to the legendary Gansevoort Spa & Lounge at the Hotel Gansevoort. The Bride-to-Be Jones insisted on having a “no fuss” wedding. With her beau already in tote 15 years and counting, she has already embarked on a special friendship – so special, in fact, the couple decided to tie the knot by spiritually completing their bond in holy matrimony. This being Jones’ first time down the aisle, she wanted the experience of traditional wedding planning rituals, a beautiful ceremony, and a classy reception without drama.

Her proud groom-to-be Willie Jennings, a construction company guru, set the tone for the wedding as he took the lead in most of the wedding planning process. As they set the date for the big day, they wanted to add a sacred element by deciding on exchanging vows on Jones’ birthday and her parents’ 50th wedding anniversary.

Along with her spiritual courtship, Jones felt it necessary to have an equally divine wedding planning process. What contributed to the success of her spiritual peace during the course of her wedding planning? World Bride Magazine! Along with floral design, honeymoon, and fashion tips, WBM extended one more tip to Shelly in the form of a gift certificate to receive spa services from Gansevoort Spa & Lounge at the Hotel Gansevoort. The tip? To relax! Jones gives the Gansevoort Spa & Lounge at Hotel Gansevoort high marks. The bride told WBM that she was “greeted in style and treated like a celebrity.”

With its lavish treatment rooms, stateof- the art steam room, pampering hydropools, and luxurious bar and lounge area, the Gansevoort Spa provides a unique and tranquil environment. The added culinary delicacies, compliments of the Ono restaurant, are a delightful touch to any bumbling bride’s spa day. Subsequently, the bride can receive a charming new haircut at the renowned Hiro Haraguchi Hair Salon. As for our brides in need of a more exclusive service, they can select treatments in a private cabana on Hotel Gansevoort’s 45- foot heated rooftop equipped with a pool with underwater lights and music.

Shelly Jones, our featured bride this month, donned a plush bathrobe, while sitting in the posh bar lounge. For the next couple of hours she was literally served from hand to foot.

As she sipped tea and began to relax, Jones decided to unwind from the heavy meat packing district traffic from which she escaped. Next, Jones endured a 60-minute full body massage and an indulgent 45-minute manicure, which left her craving for more. As she soaked her feet in preparation for her relaxing pedicure, she was treated to a foot massage and special treatment using Jaime Earl’s Pumice Foot Polish. Jones then prepared for her nail polish and treatment using WBM Editor’s Choice, Barielle. The Barielle Collection offers a full line of nail treatment products as well as a gorgeous palette of nail polish colors from which to choose. Jones was fond of the Shades Collection which made her nails feel beautiful and replenished. After a day of pampering and wonderful service in an impressive environment, Shelly Jones was ready to tackle further wedding preparations.
