Flowers For Your Fall Wedding On a Budget!
 |
Lucky for you, if your wedding is in the Fall. Nature provides an incredible assortment of deep hues at that time of year that can make any wedding feel warm and welcoming with a majestic elegance. You can go rustic, refined, or both! But how can you do a fabulous Fall wedding, and make it affordable? Here are some suggestions to make your Fall wedding fabulous, and on two different budget ranges.
Moderate budget
Fortunately, shabby-chic is all the rage, and shabby it is not! It is not only the deep Fall colors that make a centerpiece look like Fall, but the elements that you combine with it. For example, a centerpiece of deep red roses in a glass vase can be Valentine’s Day, Christmas, or any day. Though deep red roses are beautiful, when combined with buckwheat, hypericum berries, or deep orange-red foliage, and in a copper-patina tin, you have now created a warmth and elegance for very little money that certainly speaks of autumn.

Consider different containers – small tin buckets in zinc, copper or silver, can be just adorable and add flair! Also, consider adding rose-hips and eucalyptus or other soft greens to really add an effect to your centerpieces.
Other details that will certainly set your event apart are napkin ties or place card holders – buckwheat and raffia are affordable and wonderful touches that you can add to your Fall table. And of course, deeply hued table cloths with lots of glowing candles can create a room of warmth.
On a Tight Budget?
Do it yourself! You can still pull off a very elegant affair, even if your pennies for your event are earmarked elsewhere. Though roses are the most popular wedding flower, chrysanthemums are a gorgeous autumn bloom, and very economical. The chrysanthemum has gotten a bad rep in recent years, but when arranged right, they are absolutely lovely with beautiful blooms coming in a wide range of Fall colors and different shapes and tones. Have different monochromatic arrangements of full centerpieces with mums or roses in Fall colors, and you can’t go wrong.
You can buy simple glass vases from Ikea or Target at very affordable prices, and alternate your colors. A vase of deep reds, of bright reds, and of deep oranges, will really paint a beautiful portrait of the season. To add flair to the display, place the arrangement on a luxurious fabric runner that compliments (not matches) the flowers you have chosen (stay in the same palate – not an exact match – or the flowers will blend in too much). I prefer raw silk in a deep cranberry or burnt orange color.
You can also add small lady apples in reds or small gourds along the runner around the arrangements. And of course, the finishing touch to create a warm glow – display votive candles all around. Perfect.
Working with your Florist
Since there is an abundance of gorgeous flowers during the Fall season, ask for a range of prices with various flowers. For example, if you had your heart set on orchids, ask how much it would be to combine the orchids with other flowers. Often it is up to you to come up with creative money-saving suggestions. Also, don’t be afraid to ask! You want to be sure that you feel comfortable with your purchase – this is your wedding, after all!
